“I loved my first meeting
and everyone there.”
“Enjoy being with everybody at the luncheons
and hearing the presentations.”
“I just joined and have been really happy about PWN.”
Thank you to all of our members who participated in our PWN survey last month. Above are just a few outtakes from your feedback to the PWN board. Overall you, our members, are satisfied with when and where we meet, our programs and our group’s format, but you also let us know what could improve.
The two most frequent comments we received are (1) many of you are dissatisfied with the menu choices at our monthly luncheons and (2) you’d also prefer those meetings to be shorter.
The Board has reviewed and considered your feedback and wants to implement some changes based upon it.
Unfortunately we don’t have much flexibility with menu options at Delancey Street Restaurant, though beginning In March we’re offering a choice of salad or soup for the first course. The specific prefix menu we’ve chosen, which lets us offer a lunch for $30 to members, doesn’t allow for a greater selection of menu choices. We’ll have to significantly raise the price of lunch if we choose a new menu and remain at Delancey. We’ve searched for other restaurant locations with a private meeting room, but all have much higher prices and/or greater restrictions than Delancey Street Restaurant.
In the effort to improve our Lunch & Learn format, we’ve begun a new search for a conference room in the downtown area for our meetings where we’d have a box lunch catered for each month’s attendees. If we can find an affordable meeting location, we plan to keep prices low and offer fresh, healthy and new menu choices.
We need your help!
Searching the usual place and sites such as Liquid Space for conference room rentals has not yielded one that meets our needs: (1) fits 20 -35 people, sitting down, (2) available in less than a four hour block (3) reasonable room rate (>$200) and (4) allows us to choose our caterer.
Many of us may know someone at a company that can offer a conference room that’s not advertized to the greater public. Please reach out to your personal contacts and ask if they know of a space that meets our needs and could be available on the first Friday of every month. Ideally it will be located near public transit and have nearby parking available. Let Laura Atkins know if you find any leads.
Once we find our new “home” we’ll also shorten the meeting format to be consists of a half hour of optional networking time and a one-hour meeting. And since you asked, we’re also looking into finding speakers from outside of the PWN membership.
Again we thank you for giving us feedback. We’ll do our best to implement changes that make PWN an even better organization for our members. And as one member wrote, “I hope PWN will grow and thrive.” It’s our goal to see that happens in 2017.
